Position: LTL Operations Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating directly with Sims Global LTL partner Carriers.
  • Quoting, scheduling, coordinating shipments through our cutting edge TMS system.
  • Updating client status reports on a load-by-load basis by monitoring email, fax, and voicemail.
  • Check carrier accounts for any previous payments
  • Reading common carrier tariffs, accessorial charges, and freight classes as defined by the NMFC.
  • Researching and verify classification of LTL shipments using appropriate company tools.
  • Correspond with carrier contacts and respond to inquiries timely
  • Handle many carrier calls and emails
  • Research and resolve carrier payment discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain electronic carrier invoice documents and files 
  • Build long standing relationships with new and existing customers, carriers, and co-workers.
  • Find capacity and coverage for all shipments.
  • Accountable for tracking and tracing all pickups and deliveries.
  • Resolving service issues and failures while working with management team.
  • Establish and maintain personal book of business by establishing best practices and industry best customer service.
  • Negotiate rates with customers and carriers.
  • Assist support departments as needed with customer billing or carrier issues.

Qualifications: 

  • 3-5+ years servicing transportation, 3PL, or freight brokering/forwarding industry and have knowledge of LTL & TL Carriers.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred) or equivalent combination of training, education, or industry experience.
  • Ability to manage a book of business autonomously, with little to know supervision.
  • Mentor and Train Logistics Coordinators.
  • Ability to vet and onboard new Carriers accurately and provide a great onboarding experience.  
  • Ability to provide a great customer experience.
  • Ability to generate and document freight bills, invoices, and driver documentation.
  • Ability to build successful relationships with customers and fellow team members by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating efforts of the team.
  • Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office Suite and able to work from your phone, TMS, and email.
  • This is a fast-paced environment, we are looking for self-motivated and driven individuals.
  • Ability to multi-task and be organized under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize customer needs and timely communication.

 Desired knowledge and Skills: 

  • Transportation industry knowledge a plus but not required
  • LTL experience preferred but not required

National Sales Executive-

POSITION SUMMARY

The role of the National Sales Executive is to grow Sims Global Solutions by securing new, profitable, and sustainable customers in LTL and TL services.  Our Sales Executives are driven to succeed, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are excellent relationship-builders. They will directly generate revenue and drive new business by prospecting new clients, setting face-to-face sales meetings, presenting recommendations for improved logistic operations, and building long term relationships. You will have the support of a state-of-the-art TMS, driven operations teams, and a network of top carriers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage customer interactions (fostering relationships, customer calls)
  • Uses CRM to identify, call and track prospects to gain core and strategic customer opportunities 
  • Visits customers and potential clients    
  • Collaborates with leadership to ensure alignment with strategies in forecasting, business planning, and pipeline development 
  • Demonstrates solid decision-making skills and ability to prioritize ever-changing daily tasks 
  • Effectively executes sales activities to meet or exceed daily, monthly & annual expectations
  • Works closely with other internal departments to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience 
  • Consults with Client Leadership to understand their business challenges and supply chain goals 
  • Ability to develop tailored solutions that deliver value and support the Client’s business strategy 
  • Prospects, plans, and conducts face to face visits with new prospective customers within Branch territory
  • Understand how external factors can affect market conditions could impact a customer’s logistical needs and provide solutions for new market trends.  
  • Consistently update and manage client information in Sims Global CRM
  • Maintains a strong commercial presence in the local marketplace, participating or presenting at regional events
  • Coordinates with the Operations team to onboard new Clients to provide a seamless transition.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of work experience
  • Minimum 4 years of outside sales experience 
  • Knowledge of logistical concepts and supply chain terminology

Position Summary: As an Independent Freight Agent (1099), operate as your own boss working remotely from the comfort of your own home, representing Sims Global Solutions under our brokerage authority, soliciting Truckload & LTL freight services from your network of commercial customers, tapping into an unsaturated market. Qualifications

Must have at least 3 years of class A driving experience

Must have oversize / overweight experience

Must be able to operate RGN / Lowboy, step-deck and sliding axle trailers

Preference to agricultural equipment, heavy construction, oversize

Must possess a current Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a valid Federal DOT Medical Card

Must have knowledge of proper load securement chains, binders, straps etc

Must have ability to operate heavy equipment/machinery

Must have a good driving record with no recent accidents or DUI

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for safely transporting standard Dry Van loads and oversized/overweight permitted loads

Driver is responsible for loading / unloading and the safe delivery of equipment and other types of oversize loads ensuring proper securement

Driver is responsible for daily mechanical upkeep, safety inspections of equipment and defect reporting

Driver must be able to use ELD and maintain full compliance of DOT hours of service rules and regulations

Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, customers and the general public while following all safety policies, procedures and regulations

Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions

Operate vehicle in compliance with company rules and all applicable local, state and federal regulations, and in accordance with accepted principles of safe driving

Interpret maps and/or GPS to determine proper vehicle route

Inspect vehicle and all required parts/accessories to determine safe operating conditions prior to operation

Verify load is within acceptable and legal limits

Prepare and/or review shipping documents to determine nature of load and any special hazards, and perform load securement

Maintain records of fuel purchases and mileage

Maintain proper load documentation and record in/out times

Perform emergency roadside repairs such as installing light bulbs, fuses and tire chains

Coordinate the cleanliness and maintenance of vehicles

Other duties as assigned
